SDCC 2023

Comic-Con this year was an unforgettable experience. I had the privilege of joining the UDON crew at their exhibitor booth, where the Swimsuit special edition, featuring my artwork on the main cover, was being released. They also unveiled an SDCC exclusive virgin cover of the book. This was a remarkable opportunity for me to sign copies and share time at the booth, where I had the pleasure of interacting with fellow artists and the entire team.

Throughout my interactions with UDON, I've come to appreciate their tightly-knit and remarkable team dynamics. The overall experience was truly incredible. Personally, I found immense satisfaction in establishing new connections with the team members and getting to know them on a more personal level, particularly the editor and the company's owner, Erik.

During the event, I also had the chance to connect with fans, sign comics, and meet prominent figures from the industry. Notable among them were Takayuki Nakayama and Shuhei Matsumoto, director and producer of "Street Fighter 6," as well as Hidetake Tenjin, the talented artist behind numerous remarkable Macross and Robotech illustrations. I was honored to have my SF standee (Cammy) signed by these esteemed individuals. Meeting many of you who came to see me was a heartwarming experience. Your support, whether through bringing your own copies of books or showing enthusiasm for the San Diego Comic-Con comic book, meant a lot to me. Interacting with you all in person was an absolute pleasure, and I'm grateful for the meaningful conversations we shared.

I also spent time signing books with Tim Seely, the writer of "Felicia Darkstalkers." We even had the chance to sign figurines! Even though I didn't create them, I was proud to put my signature on Felicia for you. I also had the opportunity to reconnect with Todd McFarlane, sharing insights and experiences during the initial days of the event. Engaging with other renowned artists like Frank Cho, Chris Sanders, Humberto Ramos, and seeing my friends Ross Draw and Alex Ahad added to the enriching experience.

Across the hall, the Capcom USA booth showcased arcades hosting the World Cup Championship. I was thrilled to have my Chun-Li standee featured there during the first two days. This achievement held special significance, as my work was displayed alongside the game I'm deeply connected to. Witnessing people appreciating and enjoying my creations was truly gratifying.

Looking ahead, I eagerly anticipate joining Comic-Con next year. I'm even considering the possibility of having a larger booth while also participating in signings and other events. Perhaps even hosting a panel would be an exciting venture. Once again, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for being a part of this year's Comic-Con and for spending time with me. Until next year, I hope to see you again.

Thank you sincerely,
